Real numbers, published
What an AI receptionist actually costs.
Most vendors in this category hide pricing behind a “book a demo” wall. We think that’s a tactic, not a service—so here are our real numbers first, then the cost drivers behind any vendor’s quote, the billing models you’ll meet, and the hidden-cost questions worth asking everyone. Including us.

What actually drives the cost—for any vendor
Quotes in this category differ less because of technology and more because of what’s included. When you compare vendors, you’re really comparing five line items:
- Call volume and minutes. Speech, telephony, and model usage scale with talk time. Flat plans absorb it; usage plans pass it through. Know your monthly call minutes before taking any quote seriously.
- Setup depth. A generic script costs little to launch and converts like one. A knowledge set built from your services, policies, published pricing, and booking rules takes real scoping work—that’s the setup fee.
- Integrations. Answer-and-capture is one price; booking into your scheduler or taking deposits requires supported integrations, confirmed during scoping—and usually a higher tier.
- Compliance scoping. PHI handling, retention, and BAA requirements take time to do honestly. Vendors who skip it are cheaper for a reason—see HIPAA and AI receptionists.
- Channels and support. Voice only, or SMS and web too? Self-serve dashboard, or a human who tunes the agent with you? Both show up in the monthly number.
The billing models you’ll meet
Flat monthly (ClinicGreet’s model): predictable, and heavy months don’t change the bill. Per-minute or per-call: common in the answering-service world—cheap when quiet, expensive when busy, and busy is the point. Tiered usage: flat until a cap, then overage rates—read the overage clause first. There’s no universally right model; there’s the right model for your call volume, so model any quote against a real busy month. For the human-service comparison, see AI receptionist vs. answering service.
Is it worth it? Run your numbers, not our slide.
The honest ROI answer is a measurement, not a promise. A consult-driven clinic’s math has three inputs: missed bookable inquiries per week, average first-visit value, and the share of missed callers you could realistically win back by answering instantly. We publish a transparent calculator with editable assumptions—if the output doesn’t clear a few hundred dollars a month by a wide margin on conservative inputs, don’t buy this product from anyone.
Then verify the assumption that matters: the 14-day pilot runs on your real line and shows what was answered, captured, escalated, and moved forward. That’s the number that justifies—or kills—the subscription.

Five hidden-cost questions for any quote
- What happens in a heavy call month? Overage rates and per-minute clauses are where surprise invoices live.
- Is telephony included or passed through? Either is fine—undisclosed is not. We disclose ours before launch.
- What does the setup fee actually buy? Ask for the scoping list. No list, no fee.
- What does adding a location, number, or channel cost later? Growth pricing hides in the expansion clauses.
- What’s the exit? Month-to-month, or a term with early-termination fees? A vendor confident in the product doesn’t need handcuffs.

Cost questions, answered
How much does ClinicGreet cost?
Capture at $299/month plus a $499 setup fee, Growth at $599/month plus $999 setup, Concierge at $999/month plus $1,999 setup, and custom multi-location pricing after a workflow review. Telephony usage and unusual integration work may be passed through or quoted separately before launch. Every engagement starts with a 14-day paid pilot.
Why do you publish pricing when most vendors don’t?
Because hidden pricing is a sales tactic, not a service. Owners comparing coverage options deserve real numbers before a demo call—and a vendor confident in its economics has no reason to hide them.
What’s in the setup fee?
Scoping your services, policies, and booking rules; building the clinic-approved knowledge set; configuring number routing and the staff handoff; PHI and privacy scoping including BAA requirements; and testing before the first live call.
Are there usage charges on top of the monthly fee?
Sometimes, and honest vendors say so up front: telephony usage and unusual integration work may be passed through or quoted separately—disclosed before launch. Ask any vendor what a heavy call month does to the invoice.
Is an AI receptionist worth the cost?
Run the missed-call math on your own numbers, then measure real capture in a 14-day paid pilot. No guarantee—a measurement.
